“Your to tense!” Jake and I shout.

“You told me last time that I mastered it, I did it the exact, - Clem watch out!” She yells just as I’m pushed to the floor and someone lands on my leg. I screech in pain.

“Hey, what were you thinking!? Did you not read the goddamn rules, kid? Look before you dive!” Eeko screams from beside me. I sit up as the boy pushes himself off me.

“I’m so sorry, I looked, but I swear I didn’t see you!” He cries. I shake my head and pat his arm.

“Ignore her, she’s only worried about her only ride here, you’re okay, I’m fine that is all that matters, mk, kid, I’m sorry for standing in the ‘No Stand’ zone. It’s my fault really.” I say softly. He nods wipes the few tears from his cheeks and stands walking to the ladder. Someone stops in front of me their pants the color of sin. I look up into their eyes, looking down at me in wonder, a sharp emerald green. He holds his hand out to me, “Here.” I hesitate, then grab it and pull myself up with his help. “That was nice of you to let the kid go.” He mutters. I shrug and take my board from Eeko who stares in awe. “He didn’t mean to hit me, and he- he looked like a beginner, I remember how I used to make mistakes.” I stutter. The boy nods and holds out his hand again. “He is a beginner, my kid brother, I’m Wayde.” He says. I shake it, “I’m Clementine, nice to meet you.”
