“To my wife Betty, I will always love you and thank you for the daughter you gave me. I hereby leave her all the unexpired insurance.” Everyone listened carefully as he read on.

“To my daughter, Flora McAllister, I give all my tangible properties and my estate under the condition that she gets married. If she refuses to comply with the terms of this will, the properties and estates referred to in this will should be given to the state of Ohio. Flora felt rigid on her chair, heat flushed her face and her heart was racing.

It was too much to take in, she was too confused to listen. What changed her father’s mind about her? She replayed the last part in her mind, how can he force her to settle down. That was like a slap on her face. Paul finished and looked up from the will. There was silence in the office, no one wanted to speak first. Betty asked the question that was on everybody’s mind.

“Where is the original will?”

“This is the only will. Brock changed his will before he got a heart attack.” Paul said.

“What do you mean heart attack? My mom told me he died of natural causes.” Flora scoffed, trying her best to forget about the will.
