Off they went into the woods and onto the hiking trail. Everyone was so excited as most had never been hiking before. The group was being very cooperative following directions and staying on the trail as directed. They were all impressed by the nature and the beauty all of its life. They had seen creeks, waterfalls, beautiful trees, leaves, pine cones, and interesting vines. All created by nature. As they continued on they began to see small animal life as well. They came across the most beautiful colorful butterfly ever. It seemed to have every color of the rainbow. They saw crickets, spiders, and many other interesting insects. They were all amazed at how many different creatures they had seen already in just a short period of time on the trail. The more they walked the deeper into the woods they got. And the deeper into the woods they got, the more interesting things they seen. Suddenly off to the side was a family of deer. A mamma deer and her babies were down the hill at the creek drinking water. It was the most amazing site as some of them had never seen deer before. They all stood in awe and watched for a while as the deer continued to drink. Toby explained how the creek provides food and water for the animals as it contains many fish and frogs and other insects necessary to their survival. After a few moments, Toby advised that they would only be able to walk for a few more moments and then would have to turn back because it can get pretty dark in there fairly early. They all began walking along the trail again and after a few moments were beginning to get a bit bored and anxious. All of the deer and other animal life seemed to have gone into hiding. As they continued walking, the boys in the group began getting a bit rambunctious. Especially the boy at the end of the line. He began shoving the others in front of him and causing quite a ruckus when suddenly he shoved one of them a bit too hard and caused him to fall off the trail and down the hill. Unfortunately it was Lindsey’s brother Mike that was sliding down the hill and toward the creek below rather quickly. Thankfully there was a huge tree that stopped him as his foot slammed into the tree since he was sliding foot first and on his stomach. It was a pretty steep cliff, much too dangerous for anyone to attempt to rescue him, but it was no match for Toby the shoeless beast of a man, who was a veteran of the woods all his life.
