In three months, Jamo would reach twenty-six. In the meantime, he started to go on-line to plan his journey but could not decide which country to visit first. He thought about going to St. Kitts, the birthplace of his grandparents who came to the United States in the 1940s. When he was a little boy, they always talked about how beautiful and rich in history the island was, and that someday, he should go there to meet the other side of the family and maybe set up permanent roots.

His parents would travel back and forth to the island to check on their other businesses: A bread and breakfast inn and a high-end clothing store.

They were preparing to return there to live out their retirement years.

He quickly scratched that idea and wanted to get as far away from his parents as possible. This is not to say that he did not love or appreciate them, but his mother and father were always placing demands on him when it came to running and taking over the dealership. He tried to make it clear to them: He wanted no part of the business.

If left up to him, he would sell the dealership, but his parents would not hear of it and could not comprehend what he was trying to convey to them. All of the other workers at the company got the message about his lack of interest in the establishment. Why his parents could not recognize this was the sixty-four thousand dollar question.

He went back to surfing the Internet.

It was now summer break, and most of the women Jamo was seeing left town. Since he was not planning to return to college and was leaving D.C., he would never see any of his schoolmates or friends again. He was starting to feel restless and lonely.

After all, he was never without a female at his side. His cell phone had numbers of college women of every age, size, shape, and color, and if he had the inclination, he could have started a dating, modeling, or an escorting service.

During the summer, Jamo had no choice but to work at the dealership full-time, but in two months, he would reach twenty-six. For him, it would be goodbye car dealership, hello to all that money, and a bright new future.

He continued to do as little work as possible. When his parents were not there, he would spend time on the Internet instead of attending to the customers.

While on-line, he checked out some of the dating sites and laughed at a few of the men's profiles, because he never had to go on-line to find a woman. He was a suave and sophisticated young gent. All he had to do was stroll down the street, and women would approach him without any hesitation and believed he would have the same outcome in cyberspace.
