It seemed like a good idea until one night one of the workers was bite by a rat that seemed to intentionally attacked her. She was rushed to the hospital by an ambulance and was admitted to the ICU unit. The radioactive Benzene spread thoughout her body then she died. She was expecting a child and her husband was furious with her supervisor and the owner of the factory The next few weeks the county health department caught several rats and they all had been contaminated with radioactive benzene. It baffled the health department on how the rats became contaminated in the first place.
While they investigated several workers were questioned and told about the wall in the jelly bean building. The EPA torn the wall down and found several barrels of radioactive benzene and also the room was full of rats that was there also eating the radioactive waste. They kiilled as many rats that they could and then dispose of the radioactive waste and put out rat traps The next few days they caught several more rats. The next day when the day crew came in they found several of the night crew had been killed by these rats and the plant was closed down for good.
The city of Climate Springs was put on a whole city rat alert. If you spot a rat to call the health department. The elementry school was the first to close it's doors due to rats running around in it's basement. While the health department was investigating it the high school was also under seighed then the library. The town's leaders was having a special meeting when they were also bombarded with them.
