"This is the strongest I have ever seen you," he said. "Are you starting to trust your heart and hope for the future?"

Megan stopped. Those words sounded familiar, but where had she heard them? Within seconds, the answer appeared. The day I ran from the ranch filled with confusion and turmoil, Clay spoke to me. Taking a deep breath, she turned to him. "So, it was you. Why?"

"Why what?" he said, smiling and winking. The tenderness in his smile reached the depths of Megan's heart. She had never dreamed it possible for Clay to be kind and caring, unless it gave him something in return.

"Thank you," she said.

Clay left, but turned to say, "My brother's at the lake."

I feel Colby's presence, even when we're miles apart. This place will continue to amaze and confuse me. With the speed of a bird in flight, Megan ran to the lake. Colby stood on the shoreline, skimming rocks. Tranquility radiated around him. His whistling sounded like a birdcall and soon birds communicated with him. "Amazing," Megan said. "I talk to horses. He talks to birds. I wonder what they say."

When Colby turned around, his face lit with a wide grin. Without hesitation, Megan ran to him, with the answer of how to tell him she liked him. "Dance with me," she said.

"Here?" he said his voice breaking. "We have no music."

"Yes we do. It's in our hearts." She grabbed his hands. "Dance with me."

"Did you fall off Misty? Do you need a doctor?" he asked a scared look on his face.

"No," she said, laughing. "I need you to dance with me."

"What brought about this mood or should I call it a revelation? I thought you didn't like to dance."

"Blame it on life and your grandfather."

His laughter triggered the trees to sway and the birds to sing. "This place does hold magic. I had forgotten until I spent time here with you. Before you arrived, I chatted with my bird friends and asked for guidance."

"Why did you ask for guidance?"

"For us." He pulled Megan into his arms. Their eyes spoke words neither could say.

"Thank you for coming into my life, Colby Jackson."

"My pleasure, Ms. Harper. Thank you for being my wind."

She pulled away from him. "Why did you call me your wind?"
