Since they had never had a honeymoon, they left their children with family and took a camping trip to a lake. After they returned, Betty started getting sick. After a week of being sick she went to the doctor only to find out she was again pregnant. This was a hard pregnancy as she had heartburn all the time. After the baby was born, her husband knew she didn't want to have any more, so he had a vasectomy. Five years later all her children were in school so she found work. Life was a little nicer now, they had enough money to get by. The years flew by and the children were all grown and now it was just Ritchie and Betty. Ritchie wanted to try some different work. So he got a new job which took him away for weeks at a time. For a while Betty went with him but, she needed something to do, so she stayed home and got more work. About this time Betty knew she was missing something in her life, and she started going to a church, where she felt at home. However, the women had a get together and at the get together one of the women told her she needed to forgive. This was very hard on Betty. When Ritchie came home he said he had an experience and knew he needed to get back to God. The church was making changes to accomodate children and Ritchie wanted to go to another church. So they found one closer to home. It was comfortable for several years. Betty still needed to forgive. She knew deep inside that she had to forgive everyone she went to school with. She always felt like an outsider in school. However, looking back she realized she had a lot of friends. So they went to another church. Betty met a lady who was always asking her questons about the Holy spirit. Ritchie had received the holy spirit and Betty wanted to but was afraid. But one night Betty was worshipping the Lord and she fell asleep. Sometime later she woke up hearing noises. She realized she had been speaking in tongues, and it felt so good. She couldn't understand why she could speak in tongues in her sleep but not when she was awake. She thought on these things. After a few days she realized that she always had to be in control and when she was sleeping she was not in control. The holy spirit will not fight you for control, so she was able to speak in tongues while she slept and the holy spirit had control.
