We stepped inside and I turned to him. "Feeling better?"
"Much, it no longer feels like I'm being stabbed every time I take a breath."
I hugged him. "Aw, babe. Is there anything I can do?"
"Nothing you aren't already doing." He put his arm around me and kissed my neck. "Shouldn't we be taking the elevator up to the helipad?"
I laughed as I glanced at my watch. "It's 11:32. We have plenty of time to get there and be ready by three."
"Damn, I was looking forward to flying a helicopter."
"I know you were. I'll get you lessons for your next birthday."
"Aw that's sweet, Mandy." He took my hands in his as the elevators doors opened.
We walked to our car. We both stopped as I searched in my purse for the keys. I stopped looking when Keith put his arms around my waist, and pulled me close. He bit his lip. "I'm sorry today started out so badly. It hasn't been the best day, but it's about to get better."
"I know it wasn't a good couple of hours…And I know there are gonna be days like that… maybe quite a few, especially with CTC being the way it is all the time…but just so you know…" I cupped his face gently. "I wouldn't want to have a bad day with anyone but you." I stated earnestly.
Keith studied me curiously as I smiled in embarrassment. "And that sounded so much better in my head…"
He chuckled and twirled a few strands of my hair around his fingers. "What I mean is…" I swallowed hard, as my eyes became misty. "I can't imagine ever wanting to be anywhere but here with you."
Keith leaned in and kissed me softly and only for a second. "I know, honey." He held me a little more tightly. "Me too...me too."
