The phone started ringing. At first Arflin just stood there staring at it. Maybe it was someone who knew Jock Farmington personally. What would he say? He would make up some excuse. Then he slowly walked over and picked up the phone.

"Hello" he said as he waited for an answer.

It was a solicitor selling magazine subscriptions and William told the lady on the other end he wasn't interested and hung up.

Arflin checked the closet. There were some nice clothes in there and they were also a perfect fit. There were also several pairs of nice shoes. They were just a little too big, but William thought he could buy some insoles and they should fit pretty well then.

It didn't take long before Arflin was on the computer searching for his next victim. His alias was Speedy Speed or at least that was Jock Farmington's nickname. He changed the profile to say he was a writer for an outdoor magazine and he was in Australia to write some nature articles on Sydney and the surrounding areas. He also solicited help in finding out of the way places.

He was on the computer for about an hour surfing through the different chat rooms and learning some of the dialect that was being used down under. He didn't want to appear too ignorant and he also wanted to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation when he entered the different chat rooms in that area later that evening.

Arflin decided to go out for lunch. It was Thursday and he didn't feel like having a TV dinner. He stopped at a little café a few miles from the house he had now taken up occupancy in. According to the tag she was wearing his waitress was named Lacey. She was a brunette around 5' 8" and weighed about 120 pounds. She was very attractive and right away William was interested in her. He didn't see any wedding rings and presumed she was single. He guessed her age to be 28.

"Are you married?" He asked when Lacey asked if he was ready to order.

"I was married once, but my husband Fred was killed in a mining accident two years ago," she replied.

"Are you seeing anyone steady? A beautiful lady like you should never be alone," he winked.

"I really don't have time to date anyone steady. I work here 6 days a week from 6 am until 4 pm and go to school at night. I'm studying to become a nurse, and what is your name?" she asked as she suggested the daily special.
