On another occasion Yousho was drawn into the same trance that presided over Kaori as Kaori peered into the eye of the hawk. Several animals approached and were attracted by this peace and eternal calm that ensued. It was if the entire world would reach a period of peace as Kaori peered into the eye of the hawk. There is no way of explaining what happens at this time, but the connection to god was somehow enhanced by this practice of Kaori.

Some mornings the hawk would not appear and bring this experience to Kaori. This did not matter to Kaori. When the hawk showed up, Kaori was available to it. Otherwise, she simply did her prayers and practices that included her communion with the gods.

Yousho’s lineage within Hayshua dated back to the very founding of the village. His very name means “connection” which refers to his connection with the origins of Hayshua. The connection meaning was given to him a few days after birth. It does not become meaningful until his rite of passage ceremony. His parents upon naming him felt that he would lead the people of Hayshua one day. He was one of five children and was the fourth child. His older siblings were one sister who was the oldest and two older brothers. There were two years between Yousho and his next older brother. Each of the other siblings was one year apart.
