They had a picnic then was abled to play again for awhile. Angeni even admitted to Mr. Hastings that it had been a long time since they had so much fun. Mrs. White complained that they tracked in so much water and she could have fallen. Mr. Hastings informed her that he saw them come in and didn't track in that much water,plus the water was nowhere close to the door she uses when she goes and comes or her apartment door
The next day the maintance worker was fixing a leak in Mrs. White's apartment and overheard her talking on the phone to someone. She stated they needed to come right away and see how unclean those boys are that she thought the baby was being abused. He left the water turned off and told her that he needed to get something and would be right back.
He informed the older Mr. Hastings what he had heard while he was fixing Mrs. White's problem Mr. Hastings went upstairs and told Angeni that she needed to gather up the children and leave for the day. He gave her money for the zoo and told her not to come back til late in the evening. He had his son help him make the kids beds and take their laundry down to the basement.
