"Hey man, don't sweat it… Don't sweat it… It's his lost." Avery tried consoling his friend. He knew that seeing his father like this put a damper on his spirit and Jayden was always in a blue funk after meeting him like this. He wished that he had never come up with that dump idea of introducing him to his father two years ago. It seemed like ever since that time that he had discovered his father's identity, a piece of Jayden had died with the discovery of it.

"I'm not man… It's just… It's just I can't stand phony bitches. I can't believe that man can talk about family so carelessly like that and forget he has a son; fake bitch." Jayden exclaimed loudly.

"Hey… Hey… shush-shush… Business man… business…" Avery exhaled heavily. As much as he felt for his best friend, he also knew that it was time for him to deal with the issue and move on.

"Man it's been two years already. When are you going to say something to him?" He asked the question that had been bugging him for the last two years. It had been two years since that fateful day that they had set out to find Jayden's father only to discover that he already knew him. Now was the time to either confront the man or move on.

The question hit Jayden like a ton of brick. He had never considered confronting his father and revealing his identity to him. He had never even considered that as being an option.

"What did you mean earlier?" Jayden asked as the evening rush hour commute came to an end. They were packing up their things and getting ready to go home.

"About what?" Avery asked having forgot all about the conversation from four hours ago.

"Confront him… What did you mean?"

"What?" Avery was still a little perplexed and had to think back through several of their conversations that they had shared today. Jayden noticed the confused look on his face and then saw the dawning of the light replacing it.

"Oh that… I meant confront Mr. Ellis… Ask him what about you…" Avery responded casually.

"Man that's crazy talk." Jayden said dismissing his suggestion. "That sounds like another one of your dumb ideas." He stressed insinuating about the time Avery had suggested looking for his father. That had turned out disastrous. The two teens found themselves chuckling at Jayden's description of his ideas despite the severity of the situation.
