The key was already in the lock, so, I opened it up. Inside were a number of pictures and letters still in the envelopes. A note read, “Through the years, with our baby boy.”

Everything inside me wanted to look through all that was in the lock box but what would I find? What if I didn’t like what I found? It made me long for my parents again. So, I closed up the lock box and headed for the cemetery, instead.

I past the Anderson‘s house, on my way to the cemetery, and I could see that they were setting the dining room table. Going another half a block, I looked up at the sky. It seemed strange, dark and eerie looking, yet different than when rain rolls in. Then, for no reason, the sun would shine again and the clouds would vanish. The wind picked up bringing with it a howling, whistling sound.

“He has come for me…” came an unexpected voice.

With a jolt, I stopped dead in my tracks. My walk had brought me to the entrance of the cemetery. There she was. There he was. Their graves had been opened. They stood there for a split second, looking at me and then looking up.
