She was onto Journal three when the words turned fuzzy. "Wait, I'm not reading this right." Caitlin scanned the page again, and threw the book down. She paced until she quieted the voice that said to reread the entry. The book shook in her hands as tears ran down her face.

"Grandma Emmaline and Mrs. C are fighting over the marriage of their children? What is grandma talking about?"

Caitlin scanned the page. Jonathan is set on marrying Rebecca McAllister Carrington. I don't know why. She'll bring him nothing but heartache, all those hippie clothes and free ways of thinking. Rebecca should have gone to California like she wanted to, but no, my son had to propose and talk her into staying here. Rachel could not be happier. Now they will be part of our family, something she has wanted since high school. Rachel McAllister was sweet on Marshall, until William showed interest. We found true love, but it is not in the stars for our children. The book fell to the floor. "No way," Caitlin said, pacing. "Grandma's wrong. She wrote the wrong names. They would have never kept me in the dark this long. Never."

Furious and confused, Caitlin grabbed the book and broke the speed limit traveling to Valley View.
