Li Bai of the Exploding Heavens Faction? An apprentice of Yui Hatano?
Everyone was surprised. They had never heard or either the Exploding Heavens Faction or Yui Hatano. In the Eastern Continent, apprentices announced the names of their teacher only if their teacher was famous. Being as no one recognized these terms, the group of elites figured that Xu Que had just recently become an elite.
Gong Yue stared at Xu Que.
“Why is it that I can feel a slight trace of the energy of the Gong family on you?!” she exclaimed.
Normally, if a member of the Gong family was able to pick up the energy of the Gong family on someone who was not actually a member of the family, it meant that that person had killed a member of the Gong family. Gong Yue hadn’t heard anything about the status of Gong Feng’s visit to Five Elements Mountain. And now this man showed up with a slight trace of Gong-family energy on him…
Xu Que knew he was in trouble.
Obviously, Xu Que knew what Gone Yue was referring to. Xu Que had in fact killed Gong Feng, and very recently on top of that. When he opened Gong Feng’s Storage Ring, a ray of red light fell upon Xu Que. Buttface had destroyed the red stream of light, but not before a little bit of it could penetrate Xu Que’s body.
Buttface had explained that the red light had the ability to leave a mark that would identify anyone who had killed a member of the Gong family. However, Buttface assured him that since he had destroyed the light so quickly, the energy would be so faint no one could possibly detect it. This is why Xu Que thought that the effects of the red light wouldn’t cause him any trouble.
However, he never thought he would run into other members of the Gong family during his first day on the East Continent. He also hadn’t expected anyone to be able to pick up the trace of Gong-family energy that he had inside him.
“I’m sorry, I am a scholar who has never met any member of the Gong family!”
Xu Que said, pretending he knew nothing about what she was talking about.
“Tell me,” Gong Yue frowned, “are you sure you have not met anyone from the Gong family recently?”
“I have not! I just finished my cultivation and came here through a teleportation array. I have never seen anyone from the Gong Family. Though come to think of it, I did meet an ugly, old beggar. I gave him some Spiritual Stones. He became so excited. He kept on shaking my hand.”
“An ugly, old beggar?!” Gong Yue exclaimed. Her peers were also shocked. “How dare you! How dare you insult my family?!”
I just asked if you’d met anyone from the Gong family recently, and then you go on to say that you met an ugly, old beggar. Are you implying that that beggar is a member of my family?! How dare you say such a thing?! My family is incredibly influential! There couldn’t possibly be a beggar in my family!
Everyone’s attention was on Gong Yue. This woman came from an influential family and was in the ninth level of the Infant Transformation Stage. In other words, she was an elite with a great reputation.
“How can that young man who is only in the fourth level of the Infant Transformation Stage dare to offend Gong Yue like this?”
“He is in deep sh*t!”
“Offending Gong Yue is tantamount to offending the entire Gong family as well as the Jiang family.”
“This unfortunate young man is out of luck. Isn’t that right, Jiang Shan,” someone said.
Jiang Shan was one of the members in this group of elites. He was incredibly powerful. In fact, he was in the running to be the Jiang family’s next holy son. Jiang Shan was also very close to Gong Yue.
Xu Que frowned. He hadn’t wanted any of this happen at all. He simply wanted to know the Water Empress’ whereabouts and how to find her…

A young man in the sixth level of the Infant Transformation Stage stepped forward.
“What’s your name again? Li…? Do you have any idea who I am?!” the man said.
“No… You are you?” Xu Que said, looking purposely perplexed.
“My my! This little young man doesn’t even know who we are! And he’s still got the balls to talk in nonsense here in the Bright Moon Hotel. Haven’t you?!” the young man sneered.
“Let’s go inside,” Jiang Shan said to Gong Yue, glancing at Xu Que coldly.
Gong Yue nodded and turned around without hesitation.
“Fighting isn’t allowed inside the hotel,” Jiang Shan stated coldly, his back to Xu Que. “Kick this fool out and kill him. I want it done neat and tidy. Remember, do not stain the place with his blood.”
“Yes!” his peers answered in unison.
Xu Que’s face fell. He hadn’t meant to offend these people. How could he have known that Jiang Shan would be so overly arrogant and rude?
Obviously, Jiang Shan was an authority figure to among this group of people. They didn’t hesitate to follow his instructions. Being as Jiang Shan ordered his peers to kill Xu Que, It was evident that Jiang Shan didn’t want to do it himself. This was beneficial to Xu Que, for it was one less opponent to deal with at the moment. Still, Xu Que could not possibly win against them if they decided to attack him together.
To win against them, I need to make them believe that I am a weak coward. Once they take the bait, I will kill each of them outside, one by one. Then I’ll come back in to teach Jiang Shan and Gong Yue a good lesson.
“Please don’t! I am just a scholar!” Xu Que cried. “You don’t have any reason to be offended!”
The elites began to laugh at Xu Que.
“Haha! He is such a coward!”
“A person like him could never become a holy son!”
“I thought he would at least fight back, either verbally or physically, but it turns out that he really is just a coward!”
I can’t kill them in here. I have to get them outside the hotel…
“I…I shall leave now!” Xu Que said, acting terrified.
Xu Que turned around and began to make his way towards the exit. However, a group of guards was blocking the exit to the hotel. The guard in front was obviously the Captain of the Guard. He was in the sixth level of the Infant Transformation stage.
“Which one of you is Li Bai?! Show your f*cking face!” the Captain of the Guard said, his face dark.
Everyone was silent. All the elites were stunned.
How on earth has a coward like Li Bai made enemies with the Captain of the Guard of Tian Luo City?
Suddenly, a voice from behind the guards resounded.
“Brother! It’s him!”
Xu Que struggled to look past the guards to see who was speaking. It was a young man. His face was swollen and he was pointing at Xu Que. If the man with the swollen face was calling this guy brother, then that could only mean…
“Han Guosheng, that man is Li Bai! He’s the one who beat me so harshly and spat on me in front of everyone! He’s the one who forced me to change my name!”
The elites were stunned again.
What?! This weak coward beat up Han Guosheng’s brother and spat on him?! No way! This can’t be true!
“So you are Li Bai?!” Han Guosheng yelled.
“F*ck you!” Xu Que cursed.
Xu Que spat on Han Guosheng. He then took a few steps backward and took out his Dark Heavy Buster Sword.
“F*ck all of you! I am tired of pretending to be a weak coward!”
