Mark seemed to enjoy being back, and spent a lot of time talking to Harry, who actually seemed to be talking back. Harry was a grunter. Occasionally he would speak in monosyllables, but mostly he grunted. Today it looked like he was stringing words together. I was impressed.

For the first time in ages, the actual learning part of school didn't seem to interest me much. I spent most of the time fretting about nothing in particular, and fidgeting. I wondered if I had taken too much iron, but dismissed that idea fairly quickly. I hadn't taken any yet that day. Maybe that was the problem?

I persisted as long as I could, until the restlessness overwhelmed me. I left a message with Harry that I was going home, and I bailed out of there as soon as the lunch break started. A few students saw me leave, but they didn't react. They were probably planning to do the same themselves.

The walk home was as uneventful as I had hoped it would be. I wondered briefly if I should go to our house, or to Angus' place, but there was really no choice to be made. Within minutes I was knocking on Angus' front door.

"Rebecca," he said as he opened the door and saw me standing hopefully on his doorstep.

"You knew it was me," I grinned up at him as he stepped back to let me in.

"Who else, my little love?" he asked, grinning back. I pulled a face as I walked past him into the house, and was about to explain how tedious school had been today, when his expression suddenly changed. He stared at me intently, frowning slightly.

"You smell different," he said hoarsely as his eyes darkened and his nostrils flared, and suddenly I knew why I had been restless the whole day. He reached back and shut the door, his eyes never leaving my face, and my heart lurched with excitement and anticipation. Something had happened, something had changed. I had no idea what it was, and I didn't care either. All I knew was that I wanted this man more than anything else right now. And from the expression on his face, the dark, heavy desire in his eyes, I knew he wanted me too.

"You should go," he said huskily, his eyes screwed shut as he fought for control. I was having none of that.

"No," I said shortly, and then I stepped closer to him, much closer. "Touch me, Angus."

"If I do, I won't be able to stop," he gazed down at me, a warning frown creasing his brows.
