Each summer whenever Lindsey and her sister became bored with their usual activities, they would just walk across the street and participate in the parks and recreation center activities. the park director, was such a wonderful person, that Lindsey and Laura signed up and participated every year that it was open. Since the girls would spend so much time there, it gave their parents more time to focus on things around the house that needed to get done. Debbie was a very creative, kind, and caring person. She cared about the girls a great deal and even spent a lot of her own personal time and money on them over the years. When the recreation department first opened a few years back, Debbie taught the girls to make kites and then took them to a kite flying event so that they could fly them. She got so close to the girls that she treated them like they were her own nieces. She took them to see several plays including ; Guys and Dolls, Fiddler On The Roof, and many others. She took them to the local simming pool and even gave them swimming lessons and taught them how to swim like pros. She bought them hoolahoops and taught them how to use them. Laura became so good that she signed her up in the national competition at which she took the trophy for second place in the nation. She took them to Sly Park day camp and taught them how to hike. She had a lot of positive influence e on the girls and their behavior and was a great inspiration to them. Debbie taught the girls a lot about life and they will always have wonderful memories with her, that they will cherish for the rest of their lives. The girls were very fortunate and grateful for all that Debbie did for them. They were always appreciative and polite to her in the past and this year was no different. Even though Lindsey’s birthday was still a couple weeks away, Debbie decided to take her and her sister Laura and their brother Mike Jr. out for cake and ice cream to celebrate. They went to Baskin Robins and everyone got to choose whatever ice cream they wanted. They all had a fantastic time and by the time they got home it was already dark out and time to go to bed.
