I opened the box to find a gold locket. I gently opened the clasp; inside was a picture from the weekend Keith had proposed. Thinking back I remembered how we had spent a romantic weekend at secluded hotel on the beach. The first night we had a picnic on the beach and watched the sunset. It was then after a walk down by shore that he had popped the question. The picture was of us sitting on the blanket, arms around each other. He had held the camera out in front of us and snapped the picture as he kissed my cheek.
I turned over the locket, and saw an inscription: Forever and Always, Keith. My eyes became misty and still holding the locket with one hand I leaned over and pulled him in for a kiss.
"Thank you, Keith. I love it."
I handed him the locket and lifted my hair up as put the necklace on and fastened the clasp. He kissed my neck. "Thank you, for saying yes," he whispered.
"I'll be saying I do later." I smiled.
"Me too." I kissed him again as I got up to finish getting ready. I went back to the bedroom. I slipped on my chucks, my favorite shoes because they were comfortable and easy to run in, and then did my makeup. I grabbed my purse and cell then met Keith in the living room.
"Ready?"
"Uh huh. Let's go."
"All right, but first..." He kissed me deeply taking my breath away and a smile played on my lips as I kissed him back. I slipped my hand into his and we walked out of the door.
We arrived at CTC at 7 am. We headed directly to the locker room and I put on the Kevlar vest then slipped on a light gray jacket which I zipped up to cover the vest. Next, I put my phone in one pocket and the two way radio in the other. After loading and holstering my gun I met Keith at the door. Keith was now wearing his vest and his green corduroy jacket.
We walked out to the main floor where James, Amy, and another man were waiting. Amy grinned and I winked at her. I looked at the man and knew he was the Senator's double. Short, and lean with snow white hair and gray blue eyes, he fit the match perfectly. From a distance it'd be hard to tell the difference between the two.
"Everything is set up. Amy and I will be running point from here and give you updates if anything changes. Good luck you two."
