He reached over and squeezed my hand. "Well, just keep remembering that by this time tomorrow night we'll be married. And then we'll go off to Hawaii without any cares, just you and me together for a whole week."
"I can't wait."
"Me either." He kissed my hand as he parked the car in front of Mr. Chang's. "The usual?"
"Yep."
"Be right back." Keith got out of the car and ran inside.
As I sat in the car, I realized I just needed to relax. Everything was ready and it would turn out okay. Even if we have to set the wedding back a day it won't matter. I was lucky to have found Keith. After the mess with Brian I never thought I would find someone. Then in just one day I had fallen hard for Keith. He was what had been missing in my life, the other half that makes me whole. Seven months together and I know him better than anyone else. He is the one; I love him more than I ever thought I could love someone. It was hard to put into words how I felt about him; our love was so much more; it was a touch, a kiss, a look and so much more. He's always there for me. He accepts me and loves me for who I am. I don't always have to be strong or independent; I can lean on him when I need to. He is everything I've ever wanted and everything I need. I knew not long after we met that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, the wedding would make that official, but as Keith said earlier he wasn't going anywhere and neither was I. So stressing was silly, as long as I have him nothing else matters. Keith opened the car door and put the takeout bags in between the seats. As he sat down I leaned over and kissed him.
He had a big grin on his face as he kissed me back. "I love you," I whispered.
"I love you too."
We drove home and walked hand and hand to our apartment. Once inside we sat down in front the TV and spilt up the orders of the rice, noodles and sweet and sour chicken. We watched the tail end of a rerun of Law and Order. After dinner we cleaned up the mess. Keith went to take out the trash and took Bailey with him while I straightened up the kitchen and fed Stuart. When he got back I had Bailey's food ready and she came into the kitchen to eat. I patted her back and then walked out of the kitchen.
