Chapter 820: Tirion Fordring

The four Paladins had unusual names, and Lu Li suddenly remembered who they were.

Their names were Cross Resurrection, Flash of Light, Fearless and Death before Surrender. They were on the rise from the Plaguelands and would later create a guild that consisted only of Paladins – the Holy Crusaders. Cross Resurrection would be their president.

These Paladins who were active in the Plaguelands gradually lost their faith in the Scarlet Crusade. They slowly began to ponder over coming up with their own Paladin ideals.

As a result, they abandoned the Scarlet Crusade and established the independent Holy Crusaders.

Even some NPC Paladins accepted their new ideology and formed a huge Paladin base in the Plagueland's Sodorir River Valley with them.

Initially, the guild flourished, attracting many high-level Paladins.

However, by the time Lu Li had started playing, the Holy Crusaders were already in decline. The leadership made many poor decisions and were often too rigid with their requirements. They also made many enemies, one of which was the Imperial Secret Service.

The second problem was that their single-professional guild didn't provide enough variation. Although they built several clubs later so that they could include other professions, they eventually fell behind in the raids.

Lu Li's unintentional move today seemed to have changed the fate of many.

The four Paladins might not have even consider creating a guild now that they were going to join Ruling Sword. As such, the Holy Crusaders would never exist. Lu Li didn't know what the future held in that regard.

However, Ruling Sword would definitely not go down like the Holy Crusaders.

The four Paladins weren't the kind of players that would keep following a celebrity around. After their initial enthusiasm, they left Lu Li behind to continue his training and marched onwards to fight back the Scourge.

He remembered that when he had first come to the Plaguelands, he was only a little over level 30. One misstep would have resulted in his death.

Now, as long as he didn't run into any quasi-Bosses, he was in no danger at all.

Lu Li wasn't just focused on killing Lichs and was willing take on all kinds of Anti-Stealth monsters. Each monster had its own way of dealing with Stealth. Some relied on detecting Magic, while others relied on detecting Temperature. For example, an Ice-wielding Lich fought alongside a pack of Undead dogs that had a very keen sense of smell. The Plaguelands Bats made use of sounds that even the more perceptive Thieves couldn't hear.

As he fought, Lu Li unintentionally approached the Sodorir River.

The Sodorir River was famous for its waterfalls. Even if the sky was dark and the river was polluted, this majestic scene was still a must-see.

The fifth waterfall of the was at the mouth of the sea, on the eastern coastline not far from Southshore. The fourth waterfall passed through the deep canyon of Alterac, which was south of the hills of Hillsbrad. The waters of Lake Dillon flowed southwards through the Alterac Mountains and down the third waterfall, which Lu Li could see in Sodorir.

In terms of surrounding scenery, the third waterfall was the most beautiful. However, given the climate of Alterac, it was best to wear thicker clothing when visiting it.

In the area where water flowed into Lake Dillon, due to the constant war, waste was continuously deposited, which formed a blockade over time. This interrupted the river from the north and caused the water level to rise until it overflowed, forming the second waterfall.

The second waterfall was almost never visited because of its putrid smell and grimy waters.

The most famous waterfall of the Sodorir River was the first, not only because of how magnificent it looked, but also because the Fireplace Valley's Tirion Fordring had been exiled to that area.

After remembering Tirion Fordring, Lu Li planned to visit him.

Fordring might not have been a household name, but he was very well known among the Silver Hand Paladins. Although no one else knew this, he was a close friend of Uther Lightbringer – the founder of the Silver Hand Paladins. Fordring was one of the most noble Paladins in that group.

In fact, he was one of the five founding members of the Silver Hand Paladins.

Like his Paladin comrades, Fordring had battled Orcs under the Burning Legion's control in the Second World War. On the battlefield, he displayed great courage in taking the lead and defending the glory of the Alliance to keep the peace of the mainland.

He was the hero of the people after the war and named Lord of the Fireplace Valley. This was the happiest time of Tirion's life, but it didn't last long. Eleven years after the Second War with the Orcs, the Horde reorganized and quickly destroyed the Alliance Orc Prisoner camps one after another. Saar, the Orcs' new Chief, was a thorn in the Alliance's side. Many people were worried that the Horde would start another war and rumors of this spread like wildfire.

In the context of the Orcs' reappearance, Tirion's tragedy occurred as a series of coincidences.

While he was horse-riding, he unexpectedly encountered a group of Orcs in his own territory.

The two hadn't met each other before and didn't know about each other's motivations. However, the Paladin went on the offensive without thinking. For a moment, both parties were evenly matched.

During the battle, the ruins of a tower nearby collapsed, injuring Fordring and causing him to lose consciousness.

When he woke up, he was lying on his bed and was surrounded by his deputies who were tending to his wounds. According to their reports, the search and rescue team found him a few days ago, lying on his horse and seriously injured.

As he lay in bed, Fordring worked to sort out his thoughts. He was surprised discover that the only one who could have rescued him from the rubble and put him on the horse was the Orc!

However, while he was puzzling over his memories, an ambitious deputy had other ideas. His Boss had cried "Orc!" in his coma, which convinced him that something unusual had definitely taken place.
