Chapter 741: A Cute Kind of Stupidity

It was fine even if they lost some equipment; Captain Sanders' Belt was level 30 and was going to be replaced soon anyway. What Lu Li cared about the most was his experience bar. A 20% experience loss nearly left him in tears; that would be equivalent to two days of effort for him.

After using seven rare materials on the Blood Fang Altar, his experience bar had only increased by 20%.

Guild members could edit their own statuses. For example, they could set their statuses as 'doing a dungeon', 'PK' if they were on the Battlegrounds or 'spare' if they have nothing to do. Lu Li looked through the list of guild players to find Thieves who were on 'spare'.

Most guild members set a status, especially those from the elite group.

Four Thieves from the elite groups joined the team – Wolf Fang, Scarlet New Moon, Insufficient Energy and Bloodlust Sun. They were chatting in the guild channel and seemed as if they had nothing to do, which was why Lu Li picked them.

These four were among the earliest members to join the guild and were the first to enter the elite group. Lu Li had also met them in real life and they were more trustworthy than the others.

"What's up? Are we being invited to pick a fight with someone else?" Scarlet New Moon asked in surprise.

"I'll do anything – no objections!"

Insufficient Energy was a little too enthusiastic about gaming and was one of the regulars in Fat Monkey's battleground team. His technique was quite decent; he was a very standard PVP player.

"Since you guys are happy to do anything, come and be cannon fodder," Lu Li sighed.

He had to apologize to them as he wanted to use these players as scouts. The reason why he had chosen players from the elite group was because the average Thieves couldn't handle this task.

"Sure boss. Give us the location," Bloodlust Sun requested with determination in his voice after a brief silence.

After he grouped them, Lu Li called over Hachi Chan, who had been diligently working on her quests. Of course, a little girl like herself wasn't going to be used as cannon fodder. If the circumstances permitted so, she would revive her team members if someone died.

Self-resurrection resulted in a 20% experience drop, while there was only a 10% penalty when resurrected by someone else.

A few dozen seconds later, they appeared at the portal of the Hinterlands.

The team that had expanded to eight players set foot on their journey.

The first one to die was Wolf Fang; his level was slightly lower and so was his technique. However, the location of his death was further away from the monsters, so Hachi Chan could still bring him back.

With this method, it took them two hours to travel to the black Trial Tower.

Quite a few of them died along the way. Besides Lu Li, the other five Thieves died at least twice on average, but not once did they even frown. They were truly valuable guild members.

Lu Li gave them a decent number of guild points, enough to exchange for a Gold equip from the guild storage and still have some leftover points.

In front of the Trial Tower, Hachi Chan looked up and asked, "What is this place?"

"What's the point of asking so much? Rice Ball, prepare the gate!" Lu Li instructed as he tapped the little girl's head.

He had already notified Square Root 3 beforehand about the entire situation.

As soon as Square Root 3 heard that there was a place for everyone to train and loot, he grouped players together immediately without the slightest bit of hesitation.

This time, they didn't just target the elite group members – any players who fought in the Gangnam Royals battle could also answer to the call.

Sesame Rice Ball left the team and Square Root 3 replaced him. They gave him the team leader position and began to pull players over one by one.

It wasn't the first time that Ruling Sword had been teleported like this, so they acted in coordination.

After about an hour, hundreds and thousands of Ruling Sword players were spread out in front of the Trial Tower. As instructed by Lu Li, they cleared out nearby monsters and keys to the turret dropped one by one.

Almost no one was able to achieve an SSS grade like Lu Li did.

As such, under the assignment of Lu Li and Square Root 3, the players formed teams of five to enter. One would tank the monsters and another would heal, while the rest dealt damage. They were more efficient compared to Lu Li who had attempted this alone.

Lu Li had already done the trial once last week, which had refreshed again for this week, giving him another chance to enter the tower.

This time, he formed a team as well. Hachi Chan was the healer, while Remnant Dream, Nuo You and Lu Li dealt damage. The one in charge of defense was Rain Like A Wanderer, who was the leader of Ruling Sword's Night Watchmen squad.

This wasn't the strongest formation, but it was still strong enough to achieve the SSS grade.

They quickly stormed through the first three floors. Even Hachi Chan, who was a healer, ran around chasing monsters. The reward for SSS grade was excellent; everyone saw a noticeable leap in their EXP bars.

However, what they were most excited about was the reward for passing a stage.

A massive wheel appeared in front of everyone and what they received was based on their luck.

Lu Li's rewards this time weren't as great as those he had received the first time. His first draw was a Bronze equip, which he immediately tossed out. His second draw was a garbage skill book, the kind that nobody would want. However, his luck was better in the third round; he drew a Basic Mounting Skill Skill Book.

Even though he didn't need it, it would be useful for his guild members.

Nuo Yu and Rain Like A Wanderer were similar to Lu Li.

Nuo Yu's luck was worse than Lu Li's. All three of his rewards were equips and the best one was a Silver grade. Rain Like A Wandered drew a skill book for his own class, one that he hadn't learned before, so he immediately used it.

Although Hachi Chan was the daughter of the System, she didn't have much luck here either. She only received an 18-space bag from her second draw.

The one that everyone envied was Remnant Dream.

If Hachi Chan was the system's daughter, then Remnant Dream was probably the system's sister. Perhaps if you were stupid enough you would receive other blessings to compensate.

The first time, she received a skill book.

The second time, she received a mount – the White Riding Ram Mount.

This was a mount that belonged to the Dwarves and required both reputation and gold coins to purchase. If other races from the Alliance increased their reputation enough, they could still purchase this mount at a luxurious price. It wasn't an extremely rare item, but even the Dwarves themselves couldn't afford it. This mount was enough to make plenty of players jealous.

The third time, she received a skill point.

Remnant Dream had as many skill points as Lu Li, and on top of this, her equipment was top-tier. Without considering any AoE spells, she could deal more damage than Nuo Yu, who was a Fire Mage.

The little newbie who couldn't even find someone to team up with at the start could compete against the very top players now.
