She glanced at him with a slight smile on her face. “I know that you want explanations. First, let me assure you that I am not in any trouble. I have committed no crime, I used to work for the Stafford Police Department and after a case that ended badly, I was sure I did not want to do this anymore and I just left. I did not give them any forwarding information as I wanted nothing more to do with that life.”
She walked over to stand in front of him. “I went to work for them straight out of college. With my degree in psychology, I was able to help out as needed. However, that was not my biggest draw to them. I was able to look for certain people, understand the criminal mind and their patterns. My biggest method for helping them comes from my psychic abilities.”
She waited to see what he would have to say.
He looked startled, almost unnerved by what she had to say.
“That look, that one right there. That is what I wanted to get away from, that look right there!” She explained to him. “I don’t want to deal with that anymore. Either people are disgusted by me or they wanted something from me. I just wanted a normal life, one that did not include that anymore. Can you understand why I did not disclose my background to you?”
