Angeline nodded. Then, she looked up at him. “The only thing is that I will tell them the truth. They need to know that what they are doing is for real, not just for a project. I need them to focus and do their jobs. If they do not want to do so, then that is fine, and it is not a problem. But, I will give them the choice after I tell them what is going on.”
Johnnie shook his head at her. This would change everything for her. How they looked at her, everything she had spent so much time building up after she got here. However, if this is what she wanted, then he would back her in any way that he could. He nodded, finally, giving his agreement and she began to make some calls.
He left, making his way over to the police department for a meeting that he had set up earlier today. The man he needed was finally in the station and had just called to let him know. As he drove across town, Johnnie began to truly look at his feelings for her. Instead of them fading, as he thought they would, being around her had let him know that he still felt the same way. At some point and time, when this was all over, he would ask her out!
