Franklin smiled. "Not a man of many words I assure you." Franklin turned and guided the President away. "Come with me sir; I have some other folks I'd like you to meet."

"Was that really the President, Roy? And is Senator Dobbs the same boyhood friend you told me about?"

"I believe that is President Coolidge and, yes Franklin is a Senator, but I haven't seen him since I went off to war. He looks old and rather fat."

Sara chuckled. "That happens to men of affluence."

"Well, apparently the President is immune."

They sat there enjoying the crowd when three men in pinstripe suits and bowler hats walked over to the table. The tallest of the three, with a big bushy mustache, stuck out his arm.

"Mr. Folsom? I'm Bill Morse of the Pinkerton Detective Agency and would like to congratulate you on the capture of the Dixon gang and recovery of the Wells Fargo cash."

Roy stood and shook hands. "Pinkerton eh; what can I do for you?"

"We were wondering if you'd be interested in working for our agency. A man of your skills would be an asset especially out here in the Wild West. Perhaps if you have time, we could go somewhere privately and speak?"

"Gentlemen, I appreciate your offer, but I am going to decline. Today is my wedding day and I'm a little preoccupied as you can see." Roy gestured with his palm toward Sara.

The Pinkerton man was immediately apologetic. "Oh, I'm so sorry. Ah, let me say congratulations to you both. Perhaps another time?"

"Like I said sir, I appreciate you trying to recruit me, but at this time, I'm not interested."

The Pinkerton man produced a business card. "In case you change your mind, please contact me. Thank you."

As the three men walked away, Roy sat down next to Sara. "That is the second time today someone is trying to get me to take a job."

"Then maybe you should give it some consideration Roy."

"I don't think so Sara. We just got married and I have to start on the big garden. Then we need to sell your property, and I can think of many more projects still left unfinished in the new house."

"Well, I'm ready to go home and sleep with my new husband. Let's get the boys and head home."

Standing, they walked over to the band where Billy was still interacting with the musical members. After prying him free of the musicians, they then headed for the table where Abe was seen last.

"Hey Maw, I'm up to two dollars!"

"Time to go, Abe. Enough of this foolishness."
