“Well then, I suppose there is nothing more to discuss. Your mother and I will marry, and you both will stay here.”

Simon’s jaw dropped. “Really?”

Liz hit Fin’s massive chest with her fist. “Excuse me. Are you forgetting a little something here?”

Sending her a look of pure innocence, Fin said,

“Nay. I think we have everything covered.”

“I don’t think so, buddy.”

“What’s the problem, love? Simon has a right to—” Liz grabbed hold of his shirt and pulled him away from the others. “This is just like you, Fin.

What makes you think you can take charge of my life, my future like this?”

“Because,” he said, moving closer and wrapping his arms around her to hold her still.

He felt so good, so right, even with the two of them splitting hairs.

“Because of this.” His lips found hers, his tongue swept into her mouth and claimed it, marked it. She melted and let out a purr that brought a chuckle from deep inside him.

He drew away and waited until she opened her eyes before he spoke. “Because I love you. Because we belong together.”

Her heart swelled, threatening to burst. “Those are really good reasons.” Liz kissed him hard, making sure he knew how much she wanted him. “I love you.”

“’Tis a good thing. Love makes a marriage so much more enjoyable.” He kissed her again, making her forget everyone around them, and showing her how wonderful their life was going to be.
