“Our child Yousho has not returned to our hut today since going to the nursery this morning. He failed to show up for dinner or for the evening prayers with the people tonight,” said Yousho’s mother.

Yousho’s mother was now pregnant with her fifth child. She was asked by her oldest daughter to stay in the hut while the rest of the family went out to look for Yousho.

It was now about eleven o’clock and when the fires were out, darkness completely covered Hayshua. Yousho’s father went to several huts as did a few of his older siblings searching for their little brother.

At about two am each of the members of Yousho’s family returned to the hut without him. The children fell asleep by about three am, but the two adults were up all night praying for the return of their son.

Darkness covered the villages outside major cities, leaving te stars to light up the night. Sometimes the moon added a little more light to the night sky. It is a beautiful sky at night in the Hayshua village. However, on the ground the night is a night. The darkness is complete.

“A part of my mind is worried about my son, but I really feel that he is well,” said Yousho’s mother.
