"Oh, my God."

"I've no idea how long they went at it after I left, but she was in rare form."

"Ahem." Caleb had approached from behind.

The siblings jumped and turned in unison. "Morning, Father."

He squared his shoulders. "Elisabeth, I want you to know that first and foremost, you are my daughter, and I will always love you more than life. I may not agree with your choices, but I will support you in every way… and so will your brother."

"Thank you." She hugged him; his shoulders relaxed as he returned the gesture.

Miriam looked on from the door of their cabin, arms folded in steadfast determination.

They shared a quick breakfast, the mood lighter than it had been since they first reunited.

The snow mobiles sat lined up behind the cabins. They each strapped their luggage to one and hopped on. Revving his engine, Thomas yelled, "See you Sunday drivers at the festival." And took off with Elisabeth hot on his tail.
