"Keen? A werewolf; a wild animal capable of untold destruction is keen about going outside, and you find nothing wrong with that?" She threw her hands up and marched to the bar. "At least no one was hurt. I guess I'll have to make up some rules for the full moon since you people seem incapable of common sense." She looked up to see her three companions grimacing.

Sarah bit her thumbnail. "There's more."

Elisabeth slammed her glass down on the bar, stomped over to Jackson, grabbed his chin, and forced him to make eye contact. "Tell me everything."

"Uh, think you could let go of my jaw? Might be easier to talk that way."

She released the grip of her hand, but not her eyes.

Jackson looked to the ceiling. "I think we ran into those rogues you've been looking for."

"Wha… how… oh, my God." She plopped into a chair, staring straight ahead. Jackson sat on the arm of the chair, careful not to touch her, and related the story.

She sat quiet while the vampires waited for her reaction. Sarah finally broke the silence. "Please don't be angry with us. I promise we'll never do it again."

Elisabeth looked through her, expressionless. "I have to call my brother."

Jackson followed her into the kitchen staying a few steps back. "You sure you want to do that?"

He wasn't prepared for the speed at which she spun around to face him, and would have crashed into her were it not for the finger she poked into his chest. "You go off and do something completely irresponsible - again, and now you have the audacity to question my judgment? That's rich."

"Sorry, I… I… whatever you think is best, of course."

She rubbed her eyes and groaned. "How am I going to explain this to him?"

"Er, well…" He stopped upon noting her expression. "Oh, I guess that was rhetorical. Sorry." Silence seemed the safest option so he closed his mouth and attempted to look remorseful as she turned away and stormed to the phone.

"I hardly think that long face is going to help. Why don't you go back to your playmates, and give me that privacy your coward-self offered upstairs."

He retreated to the drawing room, glad for the temporary reprieve. Two expectant faces awaited him. Connor let out a low whistle. "Man, she's about as pissed as I've ever seen her without turning into a wolf."

"Yeah, let's hope the conversation with Thomas goes well."

"I can't see that happening. Her brother probably won't be any happier about her going out with a trio of vampires than she was."
