Averly decided she was going to cut her hair short and dye it a reddish brown. They made their list out and gave it to Mrs. Shepherd. When the lawyer called Everely informed him that her name was going to be Cherokee Rose Austin instead and asked him if it was too late. He said no and it would be a good idea to wait to redo their looks until after their court dates. A little later he called them and informed them the judge saw the videos and suggested they should meet at his house instead. Both girls was picked up by their lawyer and escorted them he judge's house that afternoon

The judge was very impressed with both of them. He ordered their new name change and ordered the court files sealed for at least twenty years. The judge's wife was one of his court stenographers. Everything was done at his home and his wife was on her way to file it so their new birth certificates could be on file by the next day. They shook his hand and thanked him for helping them. When they arrived back at Mrs. Shepherd's house they found their new hair color dyes and clothing. They helped each other dye their hair. Averly wondered how she was going to get her hair cut Mrs. Shepherd told her she had a beautician who had a little shop at her home and only took a few very excuslive clients. She called her and was told that yes she would cut her new employee hair.
