Everyone that had lived there for years knew each other and wouldn't have it any other way It didn't take long for them to get to know the newcomers and they never turned down a newcomer that wanted to settle into the area. The hunting crowd that came here yearly to hunt would stay at the hunting cabins on the outskirts of town and the regular tourist would stay at the Hooligan Lodge then up on the mountain was the ski lodge where the skiers stayed closer to the slopes.

None of the sheriff's children enjoyed skiing. Normally the sheriff's department didn't deal with whatever problen the ski lodge had due to the company that owned the ski lodge had their own security team that handle incidents up there.Sheriff Smith's wife died in a avalanche while working at the ski lodge ten years before and he still had nightmares over her death and their three children to this day won't talk about their mother's death. The youngest child a girl decided to move to the town that she was going to college in.

​ To this day she still won't come back. Sheriff Smith and his entire family goes and visits her every other weekend. That is when Jacob the sheriff's right hand man takes over keeping the community safe The community's children attended school at home by computers in the winter months where the snowfall amounts was anywhere from eight inches to three of four.feet in one snow storm. The town was literally isolated from the rest of the state. Supplies, medication, and mail was delivered on good days by helicopters or planes that had skis on it
