I smiled softly. “She believed that school got out when I told her it did. She was too high and didn’t care enough to check it out. Stephen stayed with me every day and did his homework. The music helped him to relax and he said it kept the voices quiet. On the weekends, I’d go to the music store and sit at one of the pianos and start playing.”

“They allowed that?”

“Not really, but once I started playing, they didn’t say too much. I think they enjoyed it or felt sorry for me. When I was in junior high and high school, I asked if I could join band, but play the school’s piano as my instrument, and they said yes. Again, I think they felt sorry for me.”

Ian put his arm around me and pulled me into him, gently kissing the side of my head. “I’m in awe right now because I just can’t believe how beautifully you play.”

“The piano was my escape from this reality into one that was much better.”

“Does your aunt know you play?”

“No. I never mentioned it. I had to stop playing after I graduated because I no longer had access to a piano. God, what I would’ve given to have one.”

“Come on; let’s go eat some breakfast. I’m sure our eggs are stone cold.”

“Just pop them in the microwave to warm them up.”

“That’s disgusting.” He smiled.

We got up from the bench, grabbed the food, and Ian led me up on deck. The bright sun in the sky, the light wave that caressed my face, and the blue ocean water were just about the most perfect things I’d ever seen.

“Oh, Ian. It’s amazing up here.”

“I knew you’d like it. That’s why I brought you on the boat,” he said as his lips kissed my bare shoulder.

We sat down at the table and ate breakfast; just the two of us, alone, in the middle of the ocean. It was perfect, he was perfect, and God help me because I’d already fallen in love with him. I wanted him to open up more about himself.

“Tell me about your childhood,” I blurted out.

Ian looked at me and, instead of the anger in his eyes that I thought I’d see, he gave me a small smile.

“You already know my mom left and my dad raised me as a single parent. There’s nothing else to really tell you, Rory.”

There was a lot more to tell me, but he just refused to. “Didn’t you find it odd that your dad never remarried?”

Ian leaned back in his chair. “Nah, he never found anyone worthy, I guess.”

He was lying, because I knew exactly what kind of man Richard Braxton was. I didn’t want to ruin our time together, and I knew if I kept pressing, he’d get pissed. I got up from my chair and leaned on the railing of the boat. Ian walked up behind me. His hands cupped my bare ass from underneath my short, silk robe.

“Your ass is amazing,” he growled as he squeezed it.

I leaned my head back on his chest and looked up at him and he leaned down and kissed me. “I think I’m going to f**k you right up against this railing,” he said as his hand reached in front of me and slowly untied my robe.

His hands moved up to my br**sts, fondling them and pinching my erect ni**les, close to sending me on my way to an orgasm. I moaned as he slid the robe off my shoulders and let it fall to the floor. We were in the middle of nowhere, and we were the only boat in sight, so I didn’t mind that I was completely na**d in broad daylight. I reached my hand back and stroked his hard c**k through the lightweight fabric of his pajama pants. He let out a groan as he plunged two fingers inside me without even a moment of hesitation.

“You’re so wet. I love how wet you get with me. You have no idea what a turn on that is,” he whispered as his teeth scraped along my shoulder.

My fingers grasped at his waistband. I couldn’t wait any longer. I needed to feel him inside me. He removed his fingers from me and took down his pants, stepping out of them and kicking them across the deck.

“Hold onto the railing tight, sweetheart, because I’m going to take you on a ride you’ll never forget.”

His fingers swept across my slick area one last time to make sure I was wet enough and ready for him. Ian wrapped one arm tightly around my waist as he thrust inside me from behind. Our bodies were connected as mine was pressed up against the railing. He moved in and out of me at a fast pace, pounding into me as if his life depended on it. His skillful finger made its way down and caressed my wet clit, sending me over the edge.

“Ah, that’s right, sweetheart; come for me. I want to hear you scream my name when you do. Can you do that for me?”

I was breathless. My heart was rapidly beating as the pools of warmth between my thighs and the tightening of my body took over. One final hard thrust and he had sent me into pure intoxication. Ian and I let out each other’s name as we came simultaneously. His groan became louder as he slowed his pace, making sure that he poured every last drop of his come inside me. I could feel the swift beating of his heart as his chest was pressed against my back. Ian buried his face into my neck.

“Have I told you lately how amazing you feel?” he whispered.

“Yes, but keep telling me.” I smiled.

Ian pulled out of me and turned me around. His smile was bright and his eyes were dancing. He leaned in and kissed me as his hands cupped the sides of my face. “I need to turn the boat around so we’re back tomorrow morning. Tomorrow’s Thursday; you have your visitation with Stephen.”

“I know and I can’t wait to see him. I hope he’s okay.”

“I’m sure he’s fine,” he said as he kissed my head.

We spent the rest of the day soaking up the sun, drinking a few cocktails, and having more sex than I’d ever imagined. I was in Heaven. There was no other word to call it. That was the day that Ian Braxton changed my life forever.

Chapter 17

I woke up and Ian wasn’t in bed. I lay there, thinking about this day. Thinking about what it meant. Its pure existence; my and Stephen’s existence. A day that was special for everyone else but me. A day that was meant to be celebrated, but never was.

Ian walked in the room with a smile on his face, bringing me a cup of coffee.

“Good morning,” he said.

“Good morning.” I smiled as he leaned over and kissed me.

“We’ll be docking soon.”

“Okay. I’ll get dressed.”

My phone was sitting on the dresser and it began to chime. Ian looked at me.

“Who would be sending you a message this early in the morning?” he asked.
