"Don't play!" she chuckled. "I'm 29, but thanks for the compliment. His name is Antwan."

"That's cool. What kind of work do you do?"

"Medical transcription. That involves typing up medical notes."

Because very few people were aware of her profession, Lela was used to having to explain what her job entailed.

"I know what it is." Neil smiled. "It appears we have more in common than I thought. I'm a consultant in that field. I sell medical transcription services and software to hospitals throughout the nation for Naytek."

Lela finished off her second Long Island Iced Tea, and said, "so that is what you guys do over at Naytek. I never knew. Well, now I can put a face to one of the people making the big money in the transcription field."

"I wouldn't say all that," he replied, brushing off the truth.

"Don't be over here trying to take advantage of my cousin, man," Trey said as he and Tonya took a break from grinding on each other on the dance floor.

Neil flashed his million-dollar smile at Lela, ignoring Trey. "I'm just enjoying the lady's company, man, and I hope she's enjoying mines."

"Sure, I am." She attempted to sound somewhat disengaged, not wanting to allow herself to get caught up in his charm.

When the Cha-Cha song came on, Tonya practically dragged Lela by the arm toward the dance floor.

Lela pulled back. "I'm going to have to pass this time." She was too tight off Courvoisier and Long Island Teas to walk, much less dance. She had forgotten about all the wine she drank at home earlier in the evening, and Neil had kept the drinks coming one after the other. Now she was starting to regret accepting them.

When the beat to R. Kelly's "It Seems Like You're Ready" came on, it was Trey who pulled Tonya back out to the dance floor.

"I'm not feeling too hot," Lela confided in Neil once they were alone. "I think I need to head home. I'm going to go get Tonya so we can go. I'll be right ba…" Lela's head hit the table as she passed out.

Her mini skirt had inched all the way up her thighs, and she was too drunk to even care.

Neil readjusted her clothing so her legs were not exposed, but not before admiring the full beauty of them.

When Trey and Tonya made it back to the table, they both asked, "What's wrong with Lela?" Trey eyed Neil suspiciously. He trusted Neil with his life, but gave him a hard time nonetheless.
