She took a piece of paper home and scratched off the crest that was on the front of her family's book. The next day in school she researched her family crest and could not find a crest that looked anything like hers. She wanted to question Sister Marie why she couldn't find her family's crest but something inside of her warned her not to.

One of her teachers had talked to the girls that feeling inside of them warning them of something was women's intuition. When the teacher told her what it meant was she was growing up and most if not all women had t woman's intuition it made Genevie fell really good inside to know she was growing up.

The nuns had treated her like she was a china doll of some kind. You can't do that else you'll get sick. It's not what little girls play with. The only time she really had to herself was in the conservatory with the flowers that her mother had perfume made out of. She thought eventually Mother Superior would tell her she was spending too much time with the flowers but instead she encourage her to spend more time there.

By the time Genevie turned ten she had lost interest in the book. She spent more of her free time writing short stories to put in her school's newspaper. She had a secret pen name. The nuns probably would go haywire if they knew what she was up to. They thought she was writing essays about things. Her writing teacher knew but she felt Genevie writings was cheering everyone at school up.

She wrote stories about people helping other people, people interacting with animals and vise versa poems about flowers and other fun things to do. It was amazing how she listened to another student and wrote about it like she had experienced the journey herself. She had recipes that she made up but never actually cooked that certain recipe. She got the idea from the Home Ed teacher. One day while the children was on a field trip that the nuns absoulutely forbid her to go she spent time in the Home Ed room and cooked several recipes that she could actually put into their paper.

Those years at that school in town was fun. Genevie fitted in nicely. It was a feeling that she hadn't had since she was very little. She made quite a few friends there. One afternoon while sitting in the library reading books most of the girls agreed they also had books about their family and family crest also even though they came from different countries when they were very small
