Suresh turned to see his sister and hearing the voice Dhivya came inside and welcomed her. Adhira ignored her welcome and started to scream the same questions on top of her voice.
Suresh was stunned to see his sister screaming for the first time so he stood motionless behind his mom. Adhira gave any angry look at him and saw Dhivya. She then saw Uma who had stopped her crying now and seeing her with surprised eyes.
Adhira sat next to her and placed her hands on Uma’s shoulders for comfort. Uma immediately hugged her for comfort and laid down her head on her lap. Suresh also went and laid on her lap. Adhira brushed both of their hairs and then saw Dhivya waiting for her to answer her questions.
Dhivya with a heavy breath sat down opposite to her and saw her. Adhira patiently asked her,” Mom, Why was Uma crying?”
“She was crying as she had lied to you.”
“I know she lied and that is why I came to know the truth. Why are they home at this hour instead of being at school?”
Dhivya breathed heavily and was about to say another lie but Suresh spoke up,” Because dad didn’t pay our school fees.”
“What? How long you are at home?”
“A week.”
