Cia did not like Veronica . Her smile was cold and her eyes were shrewd. The way she was speaking to Cia as if Cia were some lowly creature. Moreover she was very fashionably dressed while Cia’s simple jeans top looked shabby in comparison.
Jay left the room with Veronica and Cia felt a twinge of jealousy. Cia had no right to feel jealous. She was here to work , make a name for herself and prove to her parents and fiancée that she was a good designer.
Jay felt irritated with Veronica. Her behavior with Cia appalled him. She had always been rude but today she had behaved strangely. It was as if she felt insecure with Cia. She was extremely talented so her rudeness was always excused. Her designs were perfect as usual. She was an asset to their company. He knew she wanted a more personal relationship but he was not interested. She was extremely beautiful so she was used to men falling over her feet. But her beauty did not attract him. It was Cia’s ethereal beauty, her innocence which was distracting him.
“These designs are fantastic. You may go ahead and get them made.”
“Jay I was thinking, Could we have dinner together to celebrate these designs? Just you and me, at my place. We can even have desert together if you desire.”
