“World peace. Mankind and politicians have said that for years,” I thought to myself.

With a grunt, I got up from the comfy couch and turned off the tv. Then, I checked out the rest of the house. Everything was the way I had remembered it. The house needed some sprucing up but it was in decent shape, considering how old it was. The final room I came to was the kitchen. My attention was immediately drawn to a hand written letter that was sitting on the table.

“Dear Johnny,” the letter began, “ I am sorry for not keeping the house and yard in good shape. It is yours now. Do with it what you want. I placed a number of your things up in the attic. Sorry I had to leave but, as I said in the last letter I sent you, the memories were just getting to me. You have my contact information. Please keep in touch.

Love,

Uncle Frank”
