We were moving too fast, but a part of me didn't care! All of my life long dreams were now in touching distance of becoming reality.

We agreed to return to Boston as planned and I'd fly back to Washington and my Virginia apartment. He would keep our engagement secret until I repeated my trip north the following weekend. At that time we'd announce our intentions jointly to the children. I'd take Timmy to the zoo alone on Saturday, leaving Karen a day to ponder the news before she and I would spend Sunday together.

Our initial plans for this weekend called for a stop by Paul's house for a short visit with his children but we overextended our time in Vermont, mostly in bed making love. This dallying until the last possible minute caused the trip back to Boston's Logan Airport a no-stop race against time. After a last minute kiss at the gate, I was on my way back to my mundane world, a ravished but an engaged woman.
