Satan would never succeed in taking them all down. "Yes… it would be a perpetual waste of life to take my hatred out on the girl," anger burned in his eyes, blood red like the liquid pouring down the walls of the Southern Realm.
Belial took his brother aside from the others. "Lucifer and Leviathan are here, approaching as we speak. They could not wait to face the Guardian Angel and his demon army. Let them come… let us call Council of the Brotherhood so we can be done with it," Belial demanded.
"Pitiful… trials contrived by angels. Let the true battle rest with demons," Satan strode past them, casting a vengeful glance.
Belial and Satan may have been outwitted by Dantalion and his legions, but I was still his prisoner nonetheless. The barrier of fire behind which I hid would hold them from me for awhile, but eventually, they would come for me, and when they did, I could only hope my powers would change the destiny of mankind. I could no longer sense powers of thought, and whatever was about to transpire in the mortal realm was about to begin. I hoped my friends were protected, and I kept hearing the words of one specific best friend with half-demon blood….
"Remember, our immortal blood is what they want…mingled together it will be more than they expect."
Staring at the brands scorching my arms, I realized when demonic possession took hold of me the mere touch or thought of any demon triggered uncontrolled emotions. I broke the barrier of fire, searching for them below. My eyes focused on the amber-yellow glow of my 'Incubus' tainted with immortal demon blood. Dantalion, for the first time caught a glimpse of my newly possessed hybrid demon form. My eyes glowed golden-amber against the pale color of my skin, my bare arms exposing the crimson and indigo brands. My claws were razor sharp, my once shiny black hair now the color of pitch.
As soon as Rowan saw me, he pushed forward in front of the army of demons, eyeing Dantalion in a domineering way.
"I don't care if you possess some new power over angels and demons… she's not part of the plan. We've got two more Kings of Hell to contend with. Let's just take the bastards down and be done with the first heaven," Rowan reached for my arms.
"No… don't touch her… it will trigger the brands. She'll be no use to any of us out of control," Dantalion warned.
