"What elixir? How is my blood marked 'immortal'? Rowan prodded Dantalion.

"It is uncertain.. what IS certain is that you must remember its power, and your allegiance to the armies," Dantalion reminded him.

"My Lord? What are you saying?" Druitte asked.

He knew Dantalion would somehow find a way to uphold his oath to his brother demons as well as to me. He nodded to Druitte, and to Rowan, and there, before the eyes of God, submitted his allegiance to Satan.

"Excellent! Now we can rejoice in the combined forces of the first heaven. Let us bring forth the temptress who was sacrificed for our pleasure. Dantalion, I thought it more enticing she is re-created in the image of Laurel."

Slowly, Satan rose above the demonic legions, and from the blood of sacrifice, I was summoned, emerging as the most beautiful vision demon and man had ever seen. Dantalion looked upon me with compassion, knowing I would soon bear the pains of eternal damnation. Satan nodded to me, curling his razor claws in a calling motion, to come forward.

Dantalion could not bear the torture. He watched once again, as my flesh was torn and clawed, eyes black and soul-less, my body dripping with blood. Dantalion once came to me as Incubus, lust an unspoken and understood emotion of demonic nature, but over time, grew into a more refined and controlled emotion of love. This restraint allowed him to become…. almost human. Human enough to know that I had fallen victim to an infernal power I could never survive.

By bringing me into his world, Dantalion was no longer protecting mankind, but then that was the nature of his curse. Once when the moon was a beautiful thing, and he could look upon it with the passing of seasons instead of by its phases, when he hid between dominions, shifting his form, to appease the desire that was 'Incubus'.

When before he was demon he could breathe freely of the scent of roses and wisteria, and feel the warmth of the sun, and of human flesh, and know the difference between lust and love. To weigh the needs of his own with the needs of another, human, in a sense, yet still, immortal… untouched….unobtainable. Perfection protected by a golden brilliance that coveted him above all others.

Still wearing the bronze medallion around his neck, now was the decision as to whom should it be transferred, that which binds her spirit, the 'Succubus', she who's shape shifted venom could destroy and devour, who caused secrets to be revealed and whose tortures were of lust. She who bears the seal of the undead and whose spirit must be forever sealed until summoned forth by the guardian over her powers.
