She glanced at Dantalion, "What trickery is this? Hast thou not knowest the torture I inflict on thee? And the curse I have placed on this mortal girl?"

"I knowest what thee has done to the mortal I have come to love. I have no need to be restored to my immortality. Not when the girl hath been condemned to die!"

"Lies!" Gwynnedd hissed. "I hath no desire to kill the girl," she lied.

"I know thee cannot be trusted," Dantalion replied. "Once the girl followeth through with your plan, thee would not have changed her back. She would die here, chained to this forsaken altar!" Dantalion scowled.

"Fools!" None would loseth in this course of action. Thee would be restored to thy immortality, the girl changed back to her mortal soul."

"Again, thou cannot be trusted, Dantalion cursed.

"Remember Dantalion, it was your mortal sin that condemned thee to my torture as punishment, not I. I am merely a cursed soul myself."

I was still bound in chains to the altar of the Courtyard of the Undead, surrounded by Dantalion, Gwynnedd and thirty-six demonic spirits waiting in the mists, waiting for Dantalion's command.

Dantalion fell from grace over the lust for a mortal girl, he thought, never knowing she was a storm demon. Thoughts flooded my mind of how much Lilith loved Dantalion, waiting, all this time, for a mortal girl who bore her resemblance to inhabit, just to bring him back, to restore him to the third heaven. Ironic how both of us are here, back where it all began, in the Courtyard of the Undead, imprisoned as demons.

"So, when can I taketh the demon child?" Gwynnedd sneered.

She grew impatient and Dantalion pressed his demonic seals onto mine, burning hot onto my skin. The seals were my protection from both of them, neither could harm me now. He raised the bronze pentagram and commanded his legion of spirits to come forward. In demon fury, ripping Gwynnedd's claws out one by one, they severed her venomous tail from her body while Dantalion trapped her inside the bronze medallion. Dantalion placed it back around his neck and signaled to his demon army to return to their place back within the triangle.

I heard a voice coming toward the Courtyard, calling out my name. It had been three days I was cursed and chained to the altar in the Courtyard of the Undead. Dantalion heard the voice too. It was Rowan! He stopped and stared, unsure of what he was witnessing. Dantalion hadn't had a chance to release me yet from the chained altar when Rowan saw me there, and the vision of Dantalion's true demonic form. He now knew I was telling the truth about my demon. Rowan didn't hesitate to go after him, thinking he had imprisoned me here. Rowan lunged at Dantalion with a searing torch from the fire circle.
