Candee told them she had her appointment tomorrow, and Julie said, she was picking out a dress next week, Anne said, I've picked one already they are holding it for me with alterations to be done later, Starke said, mom why does that not surprise me, and again they all laughed.

Saturday came at last and Candee went to the bridal shop for her appointment, and the clerk started showing her weddings gowns in a book just to get an idea of what she might have in mind for herself.

She went into the back room, to bring some dresses out for her consideration and to try on, for the full effect, Candee was having the time of her life, when the tiny bell over the door tinkled and a young man walked in and announced flower delivery, he had a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Candee, with a card saying "enjoy your day, pretty lady, see you this evening." The clerk said, "You are a very lucky young lady to be getting married to such a romantic man." Candee smiled to her and said, "I know"

After trying on what seemed like fifty or so dresses, she settled on the one she had tried on after only having had about five or so on, she had gotten a special feeling about that dress, it felt comfortable and right somehow, and it was elegant and lovely and in a light enough fabric for a summer garden wedding, it was off the shoulder with only a narrow cap sleeve barely a sleeve at all, it had a detachable train, not too long but just perfect. She then picked her headpiece for her veil, and she was finished in that shop, her next stop would be for shoes, hose and some new clothes for her honeymoon. Starke had told her she would need clothes for a hot climate, especially in late June, but that was all he would tell her. As she left the shop, she thought, I will see him tonight at the cabin, maybe; just maybe, I will be able to pry a little more information out of him about our honeymoon destination. And she walked with a spring in her step towards the next stop on her shopping excursion.
