He entered his mom's house in his usual manner, shouting it's just me mom as he went through the door, Anne came to greet him, and said let's go sit out back for awhile; dinner will be ready in about an hour. And so they did, the birds were chirping, butterflies flitting from flower to flower, it was another pretty day.

Anne said how was the cookout at Cam and Julie's place yesterday? He said, "We had a wonderful time," Candee really seemed to enjoy herself and fit in the family perfectly, the three K's loved her, and even Trix loved her. Anne said, "I'm sorry I had to miss it" but I had a luncheon meeting of my garden club to attend, it's always fun to be with the Baylor family, our family really … Starke said, "Candee got a big kick out of the tree house Cam and I built for the boys."

"I bet she did" said Anne, as they sat there looking out over the beautiful gardens they had created, Anne said, "you know son we have the most beautiful place here for aw edding, do you suppose I can count on that one of these days?" Yes, mom I'm sure youc anc ount on that one of these days, and he chuckled, then she said, "I'm going in to checkon my roast."

Starke got up and went down to wander around the vast yard, stopping now and then to pull a weed, which they both tried diligently to keep under control. He sat in the Gazebo for a while, thinking about his relationship with Candee, and he wondered what she would say if he popped the question sooner than he had anticipated, he felt in his heart that he had Marie's blessings for some time now, and that it was meant to be, so the question now is, should he waste more time, or make her his own now, so they could begin their new life together, at ages 37 and 43 they would want to get started on the family they so desired before they were too old to enjoy them.

Money would never be a problem for them and this was a subject he would have to address with her, later because even though he did not flaunt it, and appeared to live on a cops salary, he was actually very wealthy indeed, since his Grandpa, the coal mine tycoon had left all his wealth, to his only grandson when he died, and that money was invested and earning more, then he could ever spend.
