They made love more than once that night, but who's counting she thought! This man knew what he was doing! And then they fell into a deep sleep, she woke in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee, and cinnamon, she thought.

She got up and pulled a soft jogging outfit from her tote, and put that on, slipped into her scuffs and went out to find Starke. He was in the kitchen taking hot rolls from the oven, as she helped herself to a mug of steaming coffee, he set a plate of the rolls in front of her and she couldn't resist, they looked so good and smelled even better, she said, "you made these" he said "yes", but all you do is take them from the can and pop them in the oven, they give you a small pkg. of icing to drizzle over the top, I’m pretty much hooked on these," as he lifted one to his mouth. She did the same and they both said, Y um! And then they laughed. Starke said let's take our coffee, and the rolls out on the porch, as he reached into the refrigerator for a plastic bag of what appeared to be cut up apples. He said let me go out first, you come behind me and slip into one of the chairs, nice and quiet, okay? She said ok.

Candee couldn't see much as they went through the door, he is so much bigger than she is, but as she slipped into a nearby rocker, she got her first look at the deer, many deer farther out in the yard but one was very close to the steps of the porch, however as it spotted her she noticed, it took a few steps back, she was a stranger after all.

They quietly set the coffee and buns down, and then Starke turned to the deer and said good morning ''Apples" and walked down the steps, but before he could open the bag the deer nudged his hand, he then reached in and took some of the cut apples out and the deer gently took them from his palm, with his other hand he rubbed the deer above and between his eyes, Candee was quietly watching this all transpire, Starke spoke then, softly to her.

Candee, '"this is Apples," and that bunch out there is his family, l named him Apples because, 1 tried to offer him other things but, he would have none of it, only apples, he really loves apples, later I will scatter this bag for the rest of the family to enjoy, but Apples and I have been having our meeting almost every morning, weather permitting. You may speak now but, softly till he gets used to you, he's been stealing glances at you, have you noticed? '"Yes," she said, "1 have".
