"I will start up in the loft, if you want to start looking around down here, that way you can keep one eye on the children." "alright" and they went to work, she was checking the kitchen area, and when she checked the pantry cabinet, she thought to herself, " gee I thought I had more cans of baby formula, next time I'll have to remember to bring an extra case along with us." After searching the kitchen, she moved onto the great room area of the cabin, all seemed as before there, even in the closet, same coats, hats and boots as before.

Moving on to the bedroom, bathroom areas, she stopped at the hall closet where she kept linens, and the diapers for Jamie, she wasn't exactly sure how many boxes she had before but one could have been missing, but she shrugged this off, why would a burglar take disposable diapers, she would not even mention this or the formula to her husband. He joined her in the search of the bedrooms, "nothing missing up in the loft, from what I can tell," "same here so far," when we're done with this area, I will thoroughly check out the desk, someone could have been looking for information on us?" When they had finished their search, he ask Candee, "how would you feel about loading the kids into the van, and driving up to the inn for lunch, I'm sure Gerta would love to see the kids, and Taffy will be okay here for a couple hours, after chasing squirrels around outside, she will no doubt welcome a nap."

She walked over to the door, opened it and called to Marie, who was now chasing Taffy around the yard, who was chasing a squirrel. Candee grabbed her camera which was on a table next to the door, and clicked off a few pictures, of the scene before her, until it was over and Marie and Taffy came in.

She turned to her husband, "let's take Jamie's stroller along, and the camera. We can walk around the grounds of the inn, it's so pretty up there, I'm sure I can get some great photos." They arrived at the inn and Gerta was delighted to see the family she had come to love as her own, the little ones she loved like her own great grandchildren, so much so that she joined them for lunch in order to spend more time with them.

She marveled over what a little lady Marie was becoming, how dainty and how well mannered, and chubby little Jamie was entertaining them with his own language, which every now and then Marie would interpret, since it seemed she wasa ctually able to understand her baby brother.
