Tebogo couldn't sleep. How could he when he had just made the biggest mistake of his life. He turned to his side and looked at Mandisa. She was sleeping peacefully. Half of her body was on top of him and she used his arm as a pillow.

His conscious nagged him. If he had known that she was a virgin he wouldn't have slept with her. He wasn't the kind of guy who enjoyed being a woman's first. He liked his women experience and especially when he knew their relationship wouldn't last long. Relationship? What the hell was he talking about? There was no relationship between him and Mandisa. He had been upset last night although for the love of him he couldn't remember why except that he had an argument with his mother and he had needed to blow off steam. He had left the hotel intending to go to a bar and have a few drinks but instead he had driven to her place. He hadn't stopped thinking why but the last thing on his mind last night was to sleep with her and he wouldn't have if he hadn't asked her to dance. He hadn't been able to stop himself, holding her so close, he had wanted nothing more than to have her underneath him and to be inside her.

Mandisa mumbled in her sleep and snuggled closer to him. Tebogo looked at her. Her dreadlocked covered her face and instinctively he pushed them aside. A smile touched her face and his heart jumped. He was getting attached to her and that was not a good thing. Sex with her had been amazing. She had been more than what he had expected. Her body had fitted his perfectly and now sleeping next to her, he was filled with mixed emotions. He loved the way she snuggled close to him. He loved the way her hand curled around his arm and her soft snoring. He loved everything about her; the problem was that he couldn't love her. They were enemies. His family was threatening to ruin her family. His mother would never accept her and even if that wasn't so much a problem, he lived in New York, ocean away from her and there was no way she was going to agree to live there and leave her sisters here. The situation was hopeless and there was nothing he could do to change that.

He pushed her gently away from him and got dressed in the dark. He couldn't stay there. His heart was in war with his head. He wished with all his heart that the situation had been different, but it wasn't and the world wasn't built on wishes. He was a realistic man and reality was that Mandisa belonged with her sisters and he belonged in New York, where he should be. With one final look at her, Tebogo left her apartment.
