"What ever." Mandisa answered. "The sooner you finish eating the sooner you can get out of here." He raised an eyebrow.

"What about my shirt?"

"I'll mail it to you."

"If it's alright with you, I'll like to wait for it." He said in a voice that said he didn't trust her. "This food is nice. It's not great but it's nice. Are you a big fan of Italian food?"

"I think I just lost my appetite." She threw her fork down and sat up on the couch. Tebogo went on eating.

"Why now?" She asked looking at him intensely. "Why is your family suing for custody now?"

Tebogo didn't have an answer which would justify his actions and his mother's request and truth be told he was enjoying himself and didn't want to ruin that with the reminder of why he was there. So he shrugged carelessly and said, "Better late than never."

Mandisa watched him eat his food. Her eyes didn't flatter but remained glued on his fork and that made him uneasy. When he raised it, her eyes followed. When he dropped it, her eyes followed.

"Are you sure you have lost your appetite?" He asked.

"Yeah I'm sure." She said not dropping her eyes.

"Then why are you staring at my fork?"

Finally her eyes shifted focus and she looked at his eyes. She smiled innocently, a sure sign that she was up to something.

"Is there something wrong with my fork?" He asked inspecting it.

"Nothing apart from the fact that it is in your hand and it is my fork." Mandisa said. Tebogo decided to ignore her and continue eating. Her eyes returned to his fork.

"You are making me uncomfortable." He told her.

"Oh I'm sorry. I thought that was your favorite game. Make the next person uncomfortable."

Tebogo smiled. "Okay, point taken. I made you uncomfortable, I'm sorry. Can we eat in peace now?"

The washing machine in the kitchen indicated that it was done and Mandisa jumped up quickly to go get his shirt. Tebogo finished his food and wiped his mouth with a napkin. Mandisa appeared with the shirt.

"Done." She said handing it to him.

"You are supposed to iron it." He told her.

"And you are supposed to be dead." He raised an eyebrow. "Enjoyed your food?" Tebogo looked at his plate. "I guess I didn't put in enough poison or you just have too much fat in you for the poison to work instantly." Tebogo swallowed hard and searched her face for telling signs that she was joking. There were none. Her face was as beautiful as the Mona Lisa with him unable to guess what she was thinking.
