He got out of the car and walked up to the security gate. He was in luck, the man minding the door was one of his new friends. He smiled and opened the door for him.

"Bro, what did you do to her. I've never seen her so mad."

Tebogo smiled. "You should ask what did she do to me." Tebogo said and showed him his coffee stained shirt.

"Jeez!" The guard said. "She did that?"

"In a full restaurant." Tebogo answered disgustedly.

"Yo, man I don't know what you were thinking getting involved with her, she is definitely something else." The guard shook his head. "She is gentle with her family but everyone else…" The guard said.

"She is not that bad." Tebogo heard himself defend Mandisa. It was one thing for him to think badly of her but for reason unknown to him he couldn't let another person judge her unfairly.

"She was angry at me and when angry she gets nasty." He said speaking the truth for the first time to the guard. "Is she alone?" He asked not wanting to dwell on his reason for protecting Mandisa's status or on his certainty that Mandisa only got nasty when provoked.

"Yeah she is alone." The guar said clearly thinking Tebogo was the dumbest guy on the planet. Tebogo didn't blame him. He felt dumb. Now that he was there he had no idea what he was going to do.

"I take it you know her apartment number." The guard said dismissively. Tebogo nodded and showed himself the way like a real boyfriend would. She was on the third floor and Tebogo had no problem finding the right door. He stood at the door for a second wondering what he would say to her. On his way there he had only thought about one thing, making her pay for ruining his expensive shirt. But now it all seemed petty. He had dozens of white expensive shirt; ruining one didn't seem to be worth the drive. He was there nonetheless and he couldn't turn back now.

He knocked on the door. His stomach tightened nervously and he had the sudden urge to turn around and flee... He stood his grounds. He had nothing to feel nervous about and he didn't flee from anything especially short, feisty women.

She answered the door in less than five seconds. Tebogo expected her to be still in her work clothes though about two hours had passed since the last time he had seen. He had assumed that she had headed back to the office before coming home. His assumptions were wrong for she was in her pajamas complete with a bathrobe and a glass of wine in one hand.
