I walked out of my room seeing that all of the windows in the house had been busted. But I really didn’t care. And I still don’t. I walked into the living room and saw Aaron laying face first on the couch.

Mom was in the kitchen doing something, only God knows. (Probably sticking needles up her arm. We never know.)

I walked slowly away from the kitchen until mom summoned me.

“Alivia! Come here!” She called. I had staggered for a few minutes. Not wanting to see the black liquid dripping from my mother's veins.

I slowly walk into the darkened but at the same time, it is so bright that I can’t see if I’m going to step on glass or what.

“What are you doing up?” She asked. I had to lie so she wouldn’t hit me. “I fell out of bed, and I am out of Temazepam. So I can’t sleep. I was going to get a shower, but Aaron is still asleep.” I tell her.

She looks away from the needle and looks at me. “Your brother called. I told him that you were out. He wants you to call him on your phone.” She says. I feel relief. Finally, the one person in this world that I care for wants to talk to me.
