My Grandma wanted me to stay in bed. But I begged her to let me. So without any doubt, she let me go to school. Aunt Christi drives me there.

“Now you know you have to get on the bus this afternoon. If not, you are stuck there. I love you.”

She says pulling into the school driveway. “I love you too. Hey, um I think that I am going to walk to my old place this afternoon. Is that okay?” I ask her. Her face didn’t like the idea. I can tell from the start.

“I don’t mind. But please be sure that you don’t go alone.” She asks. She takes my face and kisses my cheek. “Just be safe. Okay?” She says. “Okay,” I tell her and get my bag out and go.

“Goodmorning, Ms. Price. How are you doing?” The lady at the front desk says while I sign my name on the check-in sheet. “Hello, Mrs. Haval. I’m ok, how are you?” I ask her while she makes me a tardy slip for class. “I am ok. Thank you for asking. Here you go now don’t be late for your next class the bell is about to ring.” She says handing me the golden slip. Right before walking away, I swear her eyes changed colors. Like from a dark brown to a blistering bright golden color.,
