"Good," I said flatly, at the same time feeling the quivering start up in my body. It didn't feel like fear, though. It felt like something completely different. I reached out and pressed a hand against his chest, feeling the heat through his shirt, and the thudding of his heart under all that skin and muscle and bone. The quivering intensified, and my legs started feeling weak. Angus closed his eyes for a second, and then he groaned and suddenly his mouth was on mine, and I was up against a wall with his body pressed against me, and my legs gave up entirely. Angus chuckled, a deep throaty sound, and swung me up into his arms and carried me upstairs.
